Data collection

Woops is a browser extension for WhatsApp Web. Extension privacy and website privacy are separate: the extension works locally on WhatsApp Web; this website may use analytics as described in the Website analytics section.

We do not operate backend servers for Woops. Your messages never pass through us, and we never see who you talk to or what you write.

What stays on your device

Woops stores your extension preferences locally using Chrome's storage API. Examples include:

• Whether confirmation before send is enabled
• Countdown delay before auto-send
• Keyboard lock and sensitivity settings
• Your custom keyboard shortcut preference

This data stays in your browser and may sync through your Google account if you use Chrome sync. We cannot access it.

Woops requests only what it needs to work. Here is what each permission is for:

Website analytics

This website (woops.eliel.co.il) uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google may collect data such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser type, and referral source.

This applies to the website only. The Woops Chrome extension does not load Google Analytics or any other tracker.

We also record custom events, such as clicks on the Add to Chrome button (which button and page), to measure interest in installing Woops. We do not sell this data.

Third parties

The Woops extension runs entirely in your browser. We do not sell extension data or share it with advertisers.

This website uses Google Analytics as described above. WhatsApp Web is operated by Meta and has its own privacy policy.

Woops is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta.

Who Woops is for

Woops is a tool for people who use WhatsApp Web on a computer. It is not designed for children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy when Woops changes. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised date at the top.
